Great seller! Unfortunately the seller was unable to find the rug I had purchased. They were very helpful in trying to find another rug I would like and ended up letting me pick out a different gorgeous rug for the same price as the one I had originally purchased. The rug arrived to me in literally DAYS (faster than the Amazon Prime order that I placed at the same time!!) and was such a great price compared to other similar rugs.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RUGS

The journey of a rug starts with an idea. Rugs are the most important parts of our lives, homes and rooms. In fact, rugs are like a work of art. Rugs created loop by loop and in a long process are candidates to be the most beautiful work of your home. Choosing the right rugs creates a magical atmosphere for your home and rooms. When choosing your rugs, which will greatly affect the atmosphere of your home, you should consider; Wall color, curtains, flooring material and color, your furniture, the size of your room, the amount of light in the room, the frequency of use of the room, etc. there are many elements. You can create a color integrity in your home with a rug that is compatible with these items, or you can highlight the item you want with the contrast you create. And you feel good every time you look at it.

Rugs Materials

There are many types of rugs and therefore many types of high-quality rug materials. The type of yarn used in the weaving of the rug is one of the most important factors that determine the quality. You can use the rugs produced with the yarn type suitable for the area you will use for a longer time. The quality may vary according to the rugs you prefer, but handmade rugs are generally of high quality and long-lasting. At the same time, they are environmentally friendly due to their longevity and materials.

On average, our most used rug material is wool, which is the most widely used in Turkish and Moroccan rug design. The advantages of wool are:
1-It is natural.
2-Durable, long-lasting, especially ideal for traffic (intensive use) areas.
3-Resistant to felting, abrasion, traces and contamination.
4-It is soft and full. It looks luxurious.
5-Provides natural insulation.
6- It is resistant to flame.
7- It is durable, long-lasting and soft; therefore it is super comfortable to walk and relax.

Handmade Rug Techniques

The journey of a rug starts with an idea. Designers determine a concept and determine the harmony of the type of yarn that will integrate with the pattern and color. Artists transform the sketch they draw by hand into a computer aided drawing. The designs are transferred to graph paper and each square in the drawing represents a knot in the rug. It is then painted to indicate the detail in tones. All details are reported to the weaver and production begins.
1-Yarn dyeing
To dye the thread, threads are placed in a large bowl and the threads are dipped into the dye at regular intervals to ensure the color is even. The yarns are kept in hot dyeing water for a long time and after the desired tone is reached, the yarns are washed in sunlight and dried.
2-Knotting the rug by hand
Depending on the size, design and pattern of the rug, the weaving process of a fine hand-woven rug can take months. The yarn types with the best results in hand-woven rugs are cotton, silk and wool.
3-Finishing process
The finished rug is removed from the loom and the excess threads are cut using scissors. Details such as the color and pile quality of the rug are checked. In addition, after the rug is woven, the gaps between the patterns are corrected by good masters and they align the piles of the rug.
4-Rug washing process
The rug is washed by immersing it in water. Du is squeezed to remove dirt and residual paint. In this way, the rug is washed several times until all dust, detergent, dirt and thread particles are removed. Then it is kept in sunlight until it dries completely to balance the colors of the rug. In addition, different rug washing techniques can create liveliness in rug color tones.

Rug Dimensions

It is very important that you choose the rug you want according to the place and decor you want. The size of a rug you need depends primarily on the size of the room, secondly on the purpose of the room, and thirdly on the furniture in it. Determine the rug size you want by measuring your room in width and height. Determine the size of the rug you want. Consider how you will decorate the furniture, or consult an expert to determine your interior decor. If you're interested in a sized rug, we can help with that as well.

How to Wash Hand Woven Rug ?

Periodically washing the hand-woven rug is important for keeping it in the same quality and appearance for many years. Applications such as dry cleaning or water-based sweeping cause the rug to wear out and its vibrant color to fade over time. In addition, woven rugs should be kept as far away from moisture and humidity as possible by constantly ventilating them.

Since root dyes are generally used in hand-woven wool rugs and kilims, the appearance is always lively and bright. However, using chemical cleansers or bleach for cleaning will cause this natural dye to flow. For this reason, natural soaps should always be used.

The hand-woven rug is ventilated before washing by changing its direction at certain intervals on the balcony or in an airy area. Then, the natural substances used should be foamed in a suitable bucket and the rug should be wiped gently. After the process, it must be dried in a cool area. Hand-woven rugs that are left damp can create a bad smell. In addition, the rug that does not dry completely and remains damp should not be used.

Shaking hand-woven rugs is a wrong practice as it will cause the rug to stretch. Instead of shaking, it is recommended to sweep the silk or wool lines that can be easily selected on the rug in the direction of travel.
The most beautiful and correct method to clean your rug is to wash it with a company that does handmade rug cleaning.

As a result, handmade rugs are very valuable and an art. Since ancient centuries, they have been one of the important parts of human history. Even though their use has decreased with the introduction of machine rugs into our lives, they have never lost their value and importance. Because they all have a different story and effort.
